-- German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel has called for more federal funding for refugees, in an aim to relieve cities and local communities of the burdens of providing accommodation to refugees.

-- Germany's Deutsche Bank is set to reach a settlement with U.S. and British authorities over claims of interest rate manipulation, and pay a high penalty of more than 1.5 billion dollars, according to reports from financial sources.

-- U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez have met for talks in Panama City, in the highest level meeting between the two countries in more than half a century.
