One died, three injured in Saudi military exercise

Xinhua, April 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

Saudi Defense Ministry confirmed Wednesday that one officer died and another three were injured in a military exercise, according to Al Arabiya news.

An official from the ministry said that the incident occurred around noon Wednesday when soldiers were shooting with live ammunition in the exercise for Saudi-Pakistani military personnel in Al Bahah in the southwest of Saudi Arabia.

He described the health condition of the three officers as stable without stating the injured are Saudis or Pakistanis.

The military exercise was taking place while the Saudi Arabia-led coalition launched airstrikes against Houthis in Yemen since March 26.

Saudi Arabia announced in early hours of Wednesday the death of two policemen in a shooting by anonymous gunmen in Riyadh. Last month, another two policemen were injured in a similar attack in the capital. Endit
