Senior Chinese military and public security officials on Wednesday met with visiting Belarus' Security Council Secretary Alexander Mezhuev.

Hailing the profound friendship between China and Belarus, Xu Qiliang, vice chairman of China's central military commission, said since the establishment of comprehensive strategic partnership, the two countries have deepened mutual trust and seen more substantial exchanges and cooperation between armed forces.

Mezhuev thanked China for helping Belarus in economic development and the building of its armed forces, hoping that the two countries would continue to support each other and strengthen practical cooperation in various areas such as personnel training and joint drills.

Guo Shengkun, Chinese state councilor and public security minister, called on the two sides to jointly fight against the "three evil forces" of terrorism, separatism and extremism as well as drug crime, so as to safeguard security and stability in the two countries and in the region.

Commenting that Belarus attaches great importance to working with Chinese public security ministry in law enforcement, Mezhuev pledged to further expand cooperation areas. Endit
