French stock market index up 1.52 pct on Tuesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with an advance of 1.52 percent at 5,151.19 points on Tuesday, up 77.05 points.

On this first trading day after the Easter holidays, the CAC 40 closed higher on Tuesday with 36 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance, and it has reached its highest level since April 2008.

Tuesday's top three gainers were GDF Suez, up 4.84 percent, Technip, up 4.36 percent, ArcelorMittal, up 3.97 percent.

The three companies that lost most on Tuesday were Airbus Group, down 0.59 percent, Michelin, down 0.34 percent, and Valeo, down 0.29 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.24 percent at 5,074.14 points, up 11.92 points. Endit
