Security fears die down after Nigeria's election

Security fears in Nigeria seem to have died down one week after the general election was held in a peaceful manner, despite predictions of post-election violence by analysts.
In the capital Abuja, business activities had resumed immediately after the election results were announced.
Even, many Christians who reluctantly went to church due to the security situation in Nigeria had changed their minds to attend various masses, putting aside their fears.
"The security situation here has improved. That is why we are in church," said Kolawole Amao, a church leader.
He said predictions of post-election violence ended as fallacy, as Nigerians had moved on to other areas of focus after the most emotional election in the history of the country was held.
"We are glad to be back in church, although most of us had earlier traveled to our various states due to security fears during the election," he added.
The Nigeria general election, held on March 28, was adjudged a peaceful process by various international observers, including the UN, African Union and Economic Community of West African States observers. Endi
