A total of 13 Taliban militants have been killed during a series of operations across the war-wracked Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior said on Saturday.

"In the past 24 hours, units of National Police conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations with the units of the National Army and National Directorate for Security in Takhar, Kunduz, Sar-e-Pul, Maidan Wardak, Farah and Helmand provinces, during which 13 armed Taliban members have been killed and eight others wounded," the ministry said in a statement.

The statement didn't elaborate on the casualties of the security personnel. The Taliban has yet to make comment. Endi
