Poland, Finland discuss economy, security cooperation

Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski met with his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinisto on Tuesday and discussed regional security issues and bilateral cooperation.
In a joint statement, the presidents of Poland and Finland declared the will to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of economy, energy, security issues, agriculture and culture.
The Polish president emphasized the importance of Finnish presence for Polish economic growth and the creation of jobs. He added Poland would continue to make efforts to attract more Finnish investors.
Niinisto underlined the fact that Poland managed to maintain economic growth despite the global crisis. He added that both countries faced the same challenges, and that there was a huge potential for further cooperation.
Niinisto also announced that Finland would share its technological solutions concerning clean and nuclear energy with Poland.
During a joint briefing, Komorowski said their talks focused on security issues, including the situation in Ukraine. Endit
