Tokyo stocks open higher following Wall St. gains

Tokyo shares open higher Tuesday following overnight gains in the U.S. market.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 160.22 points, or 0.83 percent, from Monday to 19,571.62.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 17.45 points, or 1.12 percent, to 1, 575.22. Endi
