Mubtaahij from Ireland snatches UAE derby victory

The fourth race at the 20th edition of the Dubai world cup was won by Mubtaahij in one minute and 58.35 seconds here on Saturday on the 1,900 meters long dirt track named United Arab Emirates (UAE) derby.

Mubtaahij was ridden by jockey Christophe Soumillion and owned by renowned thoroughbred owner Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al-Maktoum, a member of the ruling Dubai family.

The 3-year-old horse was followed by Maftool and Golden Barrows (both United States) which were second and third, respectively. Endi
