Fire kills one, injured 10 in Croatia

Croatian Police confirmed one Syrian was killed and 10 others were injured in a fire in Bajakovo, near border with Serbia Friday evening, local media reported.

The injured included seven police officers and three Syrians, police said.

The Syrians were detained at the border crossing when they were attempting to illegally enter Croatia, police said.

One of the Syrians died after all of the 11 people were sent to hospital, police said, adding the cause of the fire was not clear and investigation was underway.

The fire broke out in premises of the police station, where the detainees were accommodated, according to police. Endi
