German airlines have decided to introduce new cockpit rules following the Germanwings plane crash, German Aviation Association BDL said on Friday.

"German airlines have adopted as a first step a new preliminary procedure that requires two authorized people to be in the cockpit of planes at all times," BDL said in a statement. (Germany-Aviation-Cockpit rules)

DHAKA -- At least 10 people were killed in a stampede in Narayanganj on the outskirts of capital Dhaka where tens of thousands had gathered for Hindu holy bathing festival.

BERLIN -- The co-pilot, who appeared to have deliberately crashed Germanwings flight 4U9525 in the French Alps, had passed all Lufthansa tests, a Lufthansa spokesman told Xinhua on Friday.

ISLAMABAD -- At least two policemen were killed and 13 others injured when a bomb hit a police van in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Friday morning, local media and officials said.

Rao Anwar, Senior Superintendent Police, said that the van carrying 50 personnel of Special Security Unit of police was targeted by a remote controlled blast in Quaidabad area of Karachi, the capital city of the country's south Sindh province. (Pakistan-Bomb-Attach)

MELBOURNE -- Former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser was remembered as a visionary, courageous leader and a passionate family man as he was farewelled at a state funeral in Melbourne on Friday.
