China, Greece agree to promote ties, deepen cooperation

Chinese Vice Premier Ma Kai and visiting Greek Deputy Prime Minister Yiannis Dragasakis agreed to deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields in Beijing on Friday.

Ma told Dragasakis that China is ready to expand bilateral exchanges and cooperation in line with the principle of mutual respect, trust and benefit.

He said Greece is a good friend and an important partner of China within the European Union, and China-Greece cooperation is an important part of China-Europe cooperation. He said China is glad to see a more united, prosperous and stable Europe.

Dragasakis said pushing forward a strategic relationship with China is a priority for Greece's diplomacy. Greece is willing to play the advantage of location to cooperate with China in the construction of the "Belt and Road" initiatives.

The Greek government will further cooperation with China in economy, trade, investment, port, culture and other areas, according to Dragasakis.

Following the talks, Ma and Dragasakis attended the opening ceremony of 2015 China-Greece Maritime Cooperation Year. Endi
