Singapore stocks close 0.54 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 18.51 points or 0.54 percent to close at 3,450.10.

A total of 1.60 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 12 billion Singapore dollars (817.5 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 257 to 146, while 529 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 12.57 points, or 0.37 percent, to close at 3,431.59 on Thursday. Endi
