South Korea will actively participate in consultations on establishing the China-initiated Asian Infrastructure Development Bank (AIIB), Finance Ministry said Friday

"(The ministry) will make best efforts to gain as much as national interests in consultations about the make-up of the AIIB equity," Choi Hee-nam, Deputy Finance Minister for international economic affairs, told a press briefing in Busan where the 56th annual meeting of the board of governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is being held. SEOUL -- South Korea's unification ministry in charge of inter- Korean relations on Friday urged the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to immediately return two South Korean men who have been detained in the DPRK on charge of espionage.

"It is very regrettable that North Korea (DPRK) makes an absurd claim about our nationals Kim Kuk-gi and Choe Chun-gil unilaterally detained (in the DPRK) without giving any advance explanations about it to our government," the Unification Ministry said in a statement. (S.Korea-U.S.-Espionage)

ISLAMABAD -- At least 15 people including 12 policemen were injured when a bomb went off near their vehicle in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Friday morning, local media and officials said.

Rao Anwar, Senior Superintendent Police, said that the van of Special Security Unit of police was targeted by a remote controlled blast in Quaidabad area of Karachi, the capital city of the country's south Sindh province.

He said that the explosive materials were fixed on a motorbike parked at the roadside.(Pakistan-Blast-Injuries)

SEOUL -- South Korea and the United States on Friday kicked off a large-scale joint maritime training exercise as part of the joint annual war game code-named "Foal Eagle," the South Koran Navy said Friday.
