Beckham believes "incredible" 2022 Olympics if Beijing wins bid

Xinhua, March 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

English soccer icon David Beckham endorsed Beijing's bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics in his recent commercial visit to China, expecting an "incredible" 2022 Olympics if Beijing wins.

"If any country try to get an Olympic Games, it means their passion about hosting something very special and also really wants the world to take notice in the sport," said Beckham, who is the promotion ambassador of Chinese Super League.

"If China is doing that for 2022, I wish them good luck, something would be incredible (for 2022 Winter Olympics), because I know how passionate the people are in this country for life and for sport, so good luck of course."

Beckham has been named the ambassador of China's youngsters soccer program. He said he would share his soccer experience with more Chinese teenagers.

The IOC Evaluation Commission is having a five-day inspection visit in Beijing and will publish their evaluation report and distribute it to every IOC member prior to the election between Beijing and Almaty, Kazakhstan, which will take place in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia on July 31, 2015. Endi
