Urgent : Israeli president assigns Netanyahu to form next government

Israel's President Reuven Rivlin formally assigned on Wednesday evening incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to form the upcoming government following last Tuesday's elections results.

After his right-wing Likud party received 30 (out of 120) seats in the Knesset (parliament), 67 parliament members from the right-wing and ultra-Orthodox parties recommended Netanyahu to the president as the candidate with the best odds of forming a coalition. Endit
