Albania's loan portfolio amount to 4 bln euros

Bank of Albania announced on Tuesday the loan portfolio of Albania provided by the banking system amount to about 4 billion euros (4.37 billion U.S. dollars), which accounts for more than 39 percent of the country's GDP.

The 16 commercial banks, with total assets of 25.9 billion euros operating in Albania, have recorded a significant growth momentum in the last decade, according to the Bank of Albania.

Experts said the country's monetary policy supported the promotion of loaning.

According to the most recent data from the World Bank, the average interest rate of loans in Albania was 9.8 percent. Enditem
