Seoul shares ended higher on Tuesday.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 4. 78 points, or 0.23 percent, to 2,041.37 at the close. Trading volume stood at 324.35 million shares worth 4.56 trillion won (4. 13 billion U.S. dollars).

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks ended 0.21 percent lower Tuesday as investors moved to take profits after recent gains. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 40.91 points, from Monday at 19,713. 45. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange declined 4.66 points, or 0.29 percent, lower at 1,587.59.
The turnover was 2,752.59 billion yen (about 22.98 billion U.S. dollars).

TAIPEI -- Taiwan's share prices closed down 0.27 percent on Tuesday with the weighted index down 26.43 points at 9,731.66, according to news reaching here from Taipei.
Turnover totaled 95.24 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 3.03 billion U.S. dollars) during the trading session.

SHANGHAI -- Chinese stocks ended higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.1 percent to finish at 3, 691.41 points.
