Xinhua, March 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

About five children were killed and 10 others wounded after a bomb went off in eastern Afghan province of Ghazni on Monday, the provincial deputy governor said.

The blast took place when children were playing football in a ground in Qala-e-Qazi locality of provincial capital Ghazni city at around midday, Mohammad Ali Ahmadi told Xinhua.

The injured were rushed to a hospital in the city with six of them remaining in critical condition, the deputy governor said.

"The bomb was planted in a bicycle parked near the ground. An investigation has been launched into the incident," the source added.

No group has claimed responsibility yet for the attack.

About 10,000 civilians were killed and injured in Taliban-led insurgency and conflicts in the central Asian country in 2014, according to UN mission officials. Endi
