Lee Kuan Yew, former prime minister of Singapore, died at 3:18 am on Monday at the age of 91, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office ( PMO) on Monday.

Lee passed away "peacefully", the statement said. (Singapore- Lee Kuan Yew-Death)

PHNOM PENH -- Five people were killed early Monday morning in an electrical fire at a nightclub in Cambodia's Bavet city of Svay Rieng province bordering Vietnam, a senior military police officer confirmed.

In Nuth, deputy military police chief of Svay Rieng province, said the accident took place at 3:20 a.m. in the Star Nightclub, which was caused by an electrical fault at a karaoke and discotheque room. (Cambodia-Fire-Death)

TOKYO -- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and visiting Indonesian President Joko Widodo will hold a summit late Monday, aiming at enhancing bilateral security and economic ties.

The two leaders are expected to promote the bilateral "two plus two" meeting involving their foreign and defense ministers and they would also sign an accord on security cooperation, local reports cited government officials here as saying. (Japan- Indonesia-Summit)

HANOI -- Vietnam has diagnosed the first outbreak of avian H1N1 flu on humans in 2015, said Vietnam's Ministry of Health's General Department of Preventive Medicine (GDPM) in the capital Hanoi on Monday.

On March 14 to 21, a total of 33 victims, who mostly are students at a primary school in Central Highlands Lam Dong province, some 1,050 km south of Hanoi, were reported with symptoms of fever, coughing, and running nose, stated the GDPM. ( Vietnam-H1N1) Endi
