Guizhou Renhe grab first victory in Chinese Super League

Xinhua, March 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Guizhou Renhe beat Shanghai Shenxin 2-1 on Saturday to grab their first victory of the season in the Chinese Super League, while the latter suffered a three-game losing streak.

After both suffering two consecutive losses in the first two rounds, either side needed to get at least one point in the third round, especially Shanghai Shenxin, who were defeated in two Shanghai derby clashes.

At the end of the first half, Shanghai led 1-0 by Yang Jiawei's powerful strike. Guizhou Renhe equalized in the 58th minute as Polish midfielder Krzysztof Maczynski seized the corner kick opportunity for a successful volley shot.

The referee pointed at the penalty spot in Shanghai Shenxin's box in the 66th minute, but Maczynski's penalty kick was saved by goalkeeper Zhang Xunwei.

With 10 minutes remaining, Maczynski made amends to give a long pass to Ricardo Santos who flipped the ball into the back of the net, helping the team win at 2-1. Endi
