Another snowstorm hits New York Tri-State Area as spring arrives

A new round of snowstorms started to fall in the New York Tri-State Area Friday, causing more than 1,000 flight delays and cancellations in the northeastern coast of the United States.

A winter weather advisory has been in effect until 2 a.m. Saturday for New York City, Long Island, the lower Hudson Valley and for parts in states of New Jersey and Connecticut.New Yorkers were asked to exercise caution and be prepared for limited visibility and slippery conditions when traveling on the roads.

New York City is expected to have snow accumulation of 4 inches (10 centimeters) to 6 inches, and temperatures will remain unseasonably low during this period, with low temperatures expected to be around 28 degrees Fahrenheit, or minus 2 degrees Celsius, according to the National Weather Service.

In New Jersey, forecasters say 4 to 6 inches of snow accumulation are also possible in Sussex, Morris and Warren counties, while central New Jersey faces 3 to 5 inches of snow.

According to flight aware website, until 1:30 p.m. Friday, 799 flights have been canceled and 235 flights delayed in the three airports in the Tri-State area. Endite
