France condemns IS attack in Yemen

France on Friday denounced the deadly suicide bombings which rocked crowded mosques in Yemen, a government official said.

"We are alongside Yemen in the fight against the terrorism," Romain Nadal, a foreign ministry spokesman said.

He reiterated the French government's support to the efforts of the UN in the region and diplomatic attempts to stop the crisis in the Arabian Peninsula.

During Friday prayers, four suicide bombers blew themselves up inside two mosques in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa and another in Saada province. At least 126 people were killed and more than 200 people were injured during the attacks.

The Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for the attacks. Endit
