72-year-old nun gangraped in eastern India leaves for undisclosed destination

Xinhua, March 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

A 72-year-old nun of a convent school in the eastern Indian state of West Bengal, who was last week gangraped by some six men, on Friday flew out of state capital Kolkata to an undisclosed location, sources said.

The nun left a hospital in the state's Nadia's district, where she had been undergoing treatment since the sexual assault on her last Saturday, accompanied by church officials and a doctor for the Kolkata airport from where she flew to a undisclosed destination, the sources said.

Meanwhile, police have failed to make a single arrest in the shocking incident though they detained some 12 people. The six men were caught on CCTV cameras installed in the convent, 100 km from the state capital.

The state government has handed over the case to the country's premier probe agency, the Centra Bureau of Investigation, after getting flak. Endi
