EU offers food aid to refugees in Djibouti

Xinhua, March 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

The European Union (EU) on Thursday started distributing food stuff and cash to refugees in Djibouti's Ali-Sabieh region.

The operation, which is being carried out in partnership with the World Food Program and the government of Djibouti, is to give aid worth about 500,000 euros. It is aimed at improving living conditions for refugees in the region's Ali-Addeh and Holl-Holl refugee camps.

Djibouti, a country in the Horn of Africa with a population of less than 1 million people, has been faced with a refugee crisis for several years. It currently hosts 23,000 refugees, most of whom are from Somalia. Endi
