The Playdome, the biggest sports stadium in Vancouver as well as the province of British Columbia in west Canada, has become the country's largest indoor carnival for children these days.
The Playdome is now in its 15th year, giving families a chance to get out of the wet weather for the province's annual Spring Break vacation.
For 29 Canadian dollars (23 U.S. dollars), visitors get an all-access day pass to all the rides and attractions one can imagine at any North American summer carnival.
Duncan Bloomfield, spokesman of B.C. Place stadium, said the largest indoor carnival in Canada means that they have the entire field at B.C. Place covered in rides and attractions, which is 147,000 square feet.
"We have 45 rides. It's a fantastic place for thousands of families here in British Columbia to come and enjoy themselves during Spring Break," he told Xinhua on Thursday.
Hamasa Durrani brought a group of kids to Playdome on Thursday from a local community center. She said the Playdome offers a warm, dry place to keep the kids occupied and having fun while school is out of session and their parents are at work.
"It's indoor and we know that is safe. The kids don't get wet, anything," Durrani said.
Children like to play there as they can feel like floating in air with the Zero Gravity ride, be spun around on the new open air cars of the Ring of Fire or be flung into oblivion on the Super Shot.
During the nine-day Playdome event which ends on Sunday, the typical carnival foods, musical performances and classic rides like the Merry-Go-Round and Ferris Wheel are provided, attracting the children and even their parents as well.
Madison, an exciting girl, said she thought it is fun to come here because there are lots of rides.
"I like trying new things and like exciting rides," she said. Endi
