Tottenham striker called up by England manager Hodgson

Tottenham striker Harry Kane was called up on Thursday for the first time by England manager Roy Hodgson for games against Lithuania and Italy at the end of the month.

The 21-year-old is expected to win his first cap after having scoring 26 goals in 42 games this season,

"I think the whole country is excited about Harry," said Hodgson. "It would have been a surprise if he wasn't selected."

England take on Lithuania at Wembley on 27 March in their latest Group E Euro 2016 qualifier before a friendly in Turin against Italy on 31 March.
