China, OECD to focus on sustainable development
Xinhua, March 19, 2015 Adjust font size:
China is willing to work with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on sustainable development and global governance.
Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang made the remarks on Thursday when delivering a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of a seminar on 20 years of China-OECD partnership.
Wang said the Chinese government values cooperation with the OECD.
The OECD has rich intellectual resources and research experience, which can be used as references for China's reform and opening up, Wang said, noting that China's development can also broaden OECD research.
Wang said the two sides will contribute to the well-being of mankind together through openness, inclusiveness, mutual benefit and common development.
With the new status of China's economic development, a critical stage of reform and a new stage of opening up, China needs more farsighted views, strategies and policies, Wang said.
Angel Gurria, secretary-general of OECD, said the OECD is proud to have China as a key partner and China's active engagement adds value to OECD work.
Gurria said the OECD supports China's desire for sustainable and inclusive development. Endi
