The police chief of southern Uruzgan province, Matihullah Khan, has been killed, acting provincial governor Amanullah Timori said Thursday.

"I can confirm that the police chief of Uruzgan province Matihullah Khan is killed and he is no more among us," governor Timori told Xinhua without giving more details.

Meanwhile, a Taliban purported spokesman Qari Yusuf Ahmadi said in contact with media outlets that a Taliban suicide bomber targeted the Uruzgan police chief in the capital city Kabul Wednesday night, killing him on the spot. Endi
