Indian stocks close lower

Indian stocks closed lower on Wednesday as investors were reluctant to take fresh positions ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve's policy statement due later in the day that is expected to give direction on interest rates there.

The benchmark S&P BSE sensex closed at 28,622.12, 114.26 points or 0.40 percent down from previous close of 28,736.38. Endi
