Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos Tuesday congratulated Nairo Quintana on winning Italy's Tirreno Adriatico race, and also Rigoberto Uran who was third in the overall ranking.

"From here, the District's Jail, I want to send a heartfelt greeting to Nairo Quintana and Rigoberto Uran. Thanks for leaving the name of Colombia so high," the head of state said during the launch of a telework program held at Bogota's District Jail.

Santos also considered that cycling will give more victories to Colombia this year when the Colombian cyclists, also known as "Beetles", will compete in the Tour of Spain, France and Italy.

Quintana, 25, won Tour of Italy last year and was the runner-up in the 2013 Tour de France. Endi
