Albania's economy to grow 3 pct in 2015: IMF

The Albanian economy will increase by 3 percent in 2015 in spite of the risks that would arise from the current domestic and international economic situation, said chief of the IMF mission to Albania on Tuesday.

"We are aware of the massive flooding in southern of Albania and the decrease of oil price, two key elements that restrain the economic growth, but we have noticed a recovery of the internal system," said Nadeem Ilahi.

"The fiscal performance has been in accordance with the program but the non performing loans still represent a problem. We expect the government to engage in providing a solution to this issue and we support this coordinated program that is being implemented and that will have positive effects in the economy," Ilahi added.

Albanian Minister of Finance Shkelqim Cani said that the reforms and measures undertaken by the government have reduced the risks for Albania's economy. Endit
