India to prepare feasibility report for helicopter hub in Goa

The Indian government Tuesday said that it has asked a state-owned aviation company to check the feasibility of a chopper manufacturing hub in the western state of Goa.

Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar said that Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has been ordered to prepare the report and a business plan as well for the project.

"We have asked them to examine the feasibility of Goa as a second hub for manufacturing of helicopters," he said.

The Defense Minister had earlier this year spoke of such a possibility during an business summit in the state where he was the Chief Minister, before taking up the current position in the central government. Endi
