Shanghai index closes above 3,500-point mark

Chinese stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.55 percent to finish at 3,502.85 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index went up 1.26 percent to close at 12,169.52 points.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.24 percent to end at 2,137.46 points. Endi
