Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will come on March 23 for the first official visit to Berlin, German Government spokesperson Steffen Seibert announced on Monday.

According to Seibert, Merkel invited Tsipras to visit Berlin in a telephone conversation on Monday afternoon and Tsipras accepted Merkel's invitation.

Merkel will receive Tsipras on next Monday afternoon, March 23, 2015 in the Chancellery.

Tsipras was sworn in as Greece's new Prime Minister to head a coalition government on Jan. 26, 2015. Endit
