Philippine President Benigno Aquino III on Sunday urged the Filipinos in Libya and Yemen to immediately leave the war-torn countries via the government's repatriation program.
Aquino said his administration has been focused on the safe release of seven Filipino workers who were seized by armed groups in Libya.
"Those countries have been placed under alert level 4. That means, the situation there is too dangerous that's why we are implementing mandatory repatriation to ensure the safety of our citizens," he said in a speech at the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio city.
He noted over 4,000 Filipinos in Libya and 900 others in Yemen need to be repatriated immediately. Endi
