Vietnam hold Uzbekistan goalless tie in U-23 soccer friendly

Vietnam's U-23 soccer team, the Olympic team, drew with their Uzbekistan rivals 0-0 in a friendly match here on Saturday.
Both sides applied a fast-speed performance right from the beginning of the game. Inferior to their Uzbekistan rivals in term of physical strength, Vietnamese players received hot support from the local fans throughout the game, which wrapped up with no goal scored.
The match is among the friendly games that Vietnam Olympic team set to play ahead of the qualifiers of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup U-23 championships 2016 in late March.
Earlier on March 9, the Vietnam's Olympic team defeated Indonesia 1-0 in capital city Hanoi also in a friendly.
As scheduled, Vietnam, under the leadership of Japanese coach Toshiya Miura, will play another friendly match with Thailand on March 22 in Bangkok.
On March 23, they will leave Bangkok heading to Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia to attend the AFC U-23 qualifiers, held from March 23-31, in which 43 football teams are divided into ten groups to compete.
Vietnam is placed in Group I together with Japan, Malaysia and China's Macao. Endi
