Obama in California for fund-raisers meeting

Xinhua, March 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

U.S. President Barack Obama arrived in Los Angeles, California Thursday afternoon to meet with fund-raising supporters.

Obama arrived at Los Angeles International Airport aboard Air Force One and was greeted by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.

He headed to the county of Santa Monica for a Democratic National Committee round-table with 25 supporters contributing up to 33,400 U.S. dollars respectively, the maximum amount an individual can contribute to a national party committee in a year, according to local media reports.

The visit is Obama's 21st to Los Angeles or Orange counties since taking office in 2009. He has made a steady stream of visits to California throughout his time in office, because Silicon Valley and Hollywood are both crucial sources of Obama's fund-raising.

Obama is scheduled to depart from the Los Angeles International Airport on Friday morning for Arizona, where he will speak at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Medical Center, as the city is mired in a national scandal for mistreating veterans. Endi
