Cyclone to dump rain on northern Australia

A moderate cyclone in Australia's northern part is not expected to make landfall but the country's Bureau of Meteorology is predicting flooding rain on Thursday.

Up to 800 millimeters of rain from Cyclone Nathan is expected to fall in far north Queensland and residents have been warned to prepare for localized flooding.

The category-two tropical storm was on Thursday 200 km off the coastal settlement of Cooktown. Endi
