1.04 mln Albanians got employed in Q4 2014

The Albanian National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) said in a report on Wednesday that the number of employed people of age 15-64 in Albania in the fourth quarter of 2014 was 1,039,336.

According to the INSTAT's quarterly Labor Force Survey, number of unemployed aged 15-64 years old in Albania is 227,407 persons. INSTAT figures show that over the fourth quarter of 2014, the labor force participation rate for the population aged 15-64 years old is 63.6 percent.

Female labor force participation rate is 54.1 percent and male labor force participation rate is 73.5 percent.

The labor participation rate has registered a slight increase by 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous quarter of 2014. According to INSTAT, the female labor force participation rate has increased by 1.1 percentage point, while male labor force participation rate has decreased by 0.7 percentage points.

Over the fourth quarter of 2014, youth (aged 15-29) labor force participation rate was 44.2 percent. Youth employment rate was 29.2 percent. Adult (aged 30-64) labor force participation rate is 74.0 percent. Adult employment rate is estimated at 64.5 percent. Endit
