France to maintain deployment of 10,000 servicemen to ensure security

Xinhua, March 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

France on Wednesday decided to maintain the deployment of 10,000 servicemen across France to ensure the country's security amid the mounting risk of terrorism.

Among them, 7,000 servicemen would still be mobilized to protect sensitive locations, including major shopping areas, public places, and religious centers, according to a statement issued by the office of French President Francois Hollande following a security meeting.

The decision came around two months after three gunmen killed 17 people in three separate attacks in Paris.

Hollande also ordered necessary measures to be taken to adapt the organization of military forces to their mission and enable them to provide adequate protection in response to threats' development and people's protection needs. Endit
