Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Yang Jian and a delegation of embassy officials paid an official visit to Hengyi's Oil Refinery & Aromatics Cracker Plant at Pulau Muara Besar (PMB) on Wednesday.

Yang said in a press release, "this landmark project signifies the close relationship between the People's Republic of China and Brunei Darussalam."

"I would like to express my appreciation to the Brunei government, general public and private agencies for their strong support towards the project. I look forward to its full operation, which will help boost local economy and promote a win-win cooperation between our two nations."

Jointly-launched by Damai Holdings Limited and Hengyi, the project will muster in an investment of approximately 4 billion U. S. dollars, and will support around 800 jobs.

Once complete, the refinery is expected to produce 8 million tons of products per year including Aromatics, Gasoline & Diesel, providing fuel to meet local demand. Endi
