Corinthians in move for Shakhtar forward Bernard

Xinhua, March 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Brazilian giants Corinthians are reportedly preparing a bid to sign unsettled winger Bernard on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 22-year-old's agent Giuliano Bertolucci is in talks with Shakhtar officials and a deal could be struck within days, according to the Estado de S.Paulo newspaper.

Bernard joined Shakhtar from Atletico Mineiro for 25 million euros in August 2013.

But he has failed to earn a regular first-team berth, managing just 32 appearances and three goals for the Ukrainian club.

During a trip to Brazil in January, Shakhtar manager Mircea Lucescu accused Bernard of "coming for money" and claimed the Brazilian "only cries".

Bernard, capped 14 times for Brazil, has not represented the Selecao since their 7-1 World Cup semifinal loss to Germany in July. Endi
