Burundi qualify for U-23 All-Africa soccer games

Xinhua, March 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

Burundi's Intamba mu Rugamba national soccer team qualified to continue the tourney in the U-23 All-Africa Games due in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo in July.

The Burundian team advanced following an equal score of 1-1 made Sunday at Prince Louis Rwagasore Stadium in the Burundian capital Bujumbura against Democratic Republic of Congo's (DRC) Leopards.

DRC's Leopards scored first in the 36th minute and Burundi's Intamba mu Rugamba retaliated in the 42nd minute.

Two weeks ago, Burundi's Intamba mu Rugamba had beaten DRC's Leopards 1-0 in the DRC's capital Kinshasa in the first leg game.

DRC's Leopards therefore left the championships.

Burundi's Intamba mu Rugamba will play Egypt in their next game. Endi
