Fiji's tourism earnings up in Q4

Fiji's tourism earnings for the last quarter of 2014 is estimated to reach about 178 million U.S. dollars, an increase of about 14 million U.S. dollars over the same quarter of 2013, the government-owned Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) reported Monday.
In the December quarter of 2014, there were increases in earnings from visitors from Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Europe, the FBC said, citing latest statistics of the Fiji Bureau of Statistics.
Australian tourists spent the most on their visits, totaling some 101 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 9 million U.S. dollars over the same quarter in 2013, while visitors from New Zealand spend some 26 million U.S. dollars in 2014's 4th quarter.
Fiji's total earnings from tourism in 2014 is provisionally estimated at about 678 million dollars, an increase of some 42 million dollars over the 2013 earnings, statistics show.
According to earlier FBC reports, the number of Fiji's annual visitor arrival reached a new high in 2014 at 692,630, representing a 5.3 percent increase over the 2013 visitor arrival number of 657,706. Endi
