Benfica beats Arouca 3-1 in Portuguese league

Benfica beat Arouca 3-1 on Sunday in the 24th round of the Portuguese league, at the Municipal Stadium in Arouca, in northern Portugal.

Arouca forward Iuri Medeiros opened the scoring in the sixth minute, served by Nelson Conceicao.

Befica's Jonas scored in the 50th into an empty net. Lima scored five minutes later and scored again in the 75th after an excellent pass by Eliseu.

League leader Benfica remains at the top of the Portuguese league with 62 points, while Arouca stands 15th with 20 points.

Also on Sunday Moreirense lost to Academica 0-2 and Maritimo beat P.Perreira 2-1 while Estoril tied with Gil Vicente 1-1 and Boavista beat Guimaraes 3-1. Endi
