Int'l funds to support Myanmar health plan

The UN Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Three Millennium Development Goal Fund (3MDG) have signed a 909,500-USD agreement to help Myanmar government in partnership in the implementation of a health workforce strategic plan, a semi- official media reported Sunday.

With the technical support of the two international funds, health staff of Myanmar will receive training on the use of geographical information system as well as data collection for Myanmar's health management information system, said the Global New Light of Myanmar.

The international funds will also work with the Myanmar Health Ministry on areas of sector policy, strategy and planning, and specifically on strategic plans on adolescent and reproductive health as part of the National Health Plan to attain universal health coverage in the country, the report added.
