1st LD: Four people shot dead in Malian restaurant

Xinhua, March 7, 2015 Adjust font size:

Four people -- two Europeans and two Malians -- were shot dead in a popular restaurant in Bamako, the capital of Mali, on Saturday.

The killing took place when a lone gunman walked into the busy restaurant located in an area popular with foreign tourists and expatriates, and fired several shots at the crowds.

Local police called the shooting "a terrorist attack", revealing that one French national, one Belgian and two Malians were killed.

French President Francois Hollande denounced the incident as "a cowardly attack", while the French embassy in Mali warned all French nationals in Bamako to take extra caution if they had to leave their homes. Endi
