Beijing Guoan beat 10-man Suwon Samsung Bluewings at AFC Champions League

Xinhua, March 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan claimed their second consecutive win in the AFC Champions League as Dejan Damjanovic's winner in the second-half gave them a home victory over South Korea's Suwon Samsung Bluewings on Wednesday night.

In the first-half, both sides were lack of good opportunities to break the deadlock.

The game became fierce after a goalless halftime. Suwon's defender Yang Sang-Min saw red after a foul on the hour mark. Guoan turned the advantage into goal just 5 minutes later as Dejan's bullet header from the pinpass of Pablo Batalla in a corner attack put Guoan ahead.

After that Suwon started to strengthen its attack trying to pull it back, but Guoan's solid defense gave them no chance.

Guoan place first with 6 points in Group G after two rounds, Suwon and Brisbane Roar from Australia trail by 3 points.

Guoan goalkeeper Yang Zhi was voted player of the match and he said it was a hard game. "We didn't have advantages when playing against South Korea's teams, and the hard-won match belongs to everyone."

Guoan will meet Urawa Red Diamonds from Japan in the third round on March 17. Endi
