IAEA's refusal of visiting Iranian site casts doubt over credibility: Iranian envoy

The Iranian envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Wednesday said the agency's refusal of visiting an alleged Iranian site could not cover the agency's mistake in its report, casting doubt about the credibility of IAEA's information.

Reza Najafi, Iranian envoy to IAEA told reporters during the IAEA board meeting that the agency refused the offer from Iran to visit the Marivan "could not cover the mistake including this allegation in this report."

Based on the "creditable" information IAEA identified 12 spots of Iran's alleged nuclear bomb reach program, which Tehran denies, including the high explosive experiments in the region of Marivan.

IAEA has always asking Iran to clarify its unresolved issues over its nuclear program, but had no intention to visit a suspected Iranian site in Marivan region, where Iran is suspected to have conducted large scale of high explosive experiments referring to Tehran's alleged nuclear bomb research plan.

"The Further information provided to the Agency by the same Member State indicates that the large scale high explosive experiments were conducted by Iran in the region of Marivan," IAEA said in its November 2011 report.

Iran said the information IAEA got about the alleged Iran's nuclear bomb research is fabricated and is misleading.

Iran and IAEA would meet again on March 9 to promote the cooperation to clarify Iran's nuclear program. Endit
